Soffit & Fascia Repair in Calgary
Fascia is the board your gutters hang on, and soffit is the vented underside of the eave that lets your attic breathe. Both fail quietly. Rotted fascia usually means the gutters have been overflowing for years, and damaged soffit means your attic has stopped venting - which shows up as ice dams in January.

What it costs.
This one is quoted on site. We'd rather look at the surface and give you a number that holds than publish a "from" price that changes when we arrive.
Quoted by the run once we have seen it. A couple of soft boards is a small job; a whole elevation that has been wet for five years is not, and we would rather measure than guess.
Prices are for jobs inside Calgary. Outside the city there's a $24.99 fuel surcharge.

What's included.
Most repairs are half a day to a day, depending on how much of the run is going.

- Rotted fascia board cut out and replaced, not capped over to hide it
- Aluminum fascia capping and soffit fitted to match what is already there
- Vented soffit where it should be vented, because that is the whole point of it
- Gaps closed properly so birds, wasps and squirrels stop getting into your attic
- An honest look at why it rotted, which is almost always the gutters above it
Not included
- Replacing fascia and leaving the drainage that rotted it. We will fix it, but we will tell you it will happen again
- Attic insulation, vapour barrier or interior work
- Removing wildlife already living up there - that is a licensed job and we will point you at someone
Questions we actually get.
Why does fascia rot?
Water, almost always from above. A gutter that overflows sends water down the back of the fascia instead of through the downspout, and it sits there. That is why we look at the eaves before quoting the boards - replacing rotted fascia under a gutter that still overflows just buys you a few years before the same bill.
What does soffit actually do?
It is your attic's air intake. Air comes in through the vented soffit, runs up under the roof deck and out the roof vents, and that airflow is what keeps the underside of your shingles cold in winter. Block it or damage it and you get ice dams at the eave in January and a hot attic cooking your shingles from beneath in July.

Common, and usually a gap where the soffit meets the fascia or the wall. Birds and wasps take the small ones, squirrels widen them. We close the gap properly with material rather than expanding foam, which they simply chew back through.
Can you match what is already there?
Usually. Aluminum fascia capping and soffit come in standard colours and most Calgary houses use one of them. If yours is an odd colour or a discontinued profile we will tell you before we start, rather than after you are looking at a patch that does not match.
