What it costs.
This one is quoted on site. We'd rather look at the surface and give you a number that holds than publish a "from" price that changes when we arrive.
Prices are for jobs inside Calgary. Outside the city there's a $24.99 fuel surcharge.
Book two services on the same visit and the cheaper one comes off 15%. Applies to work our own crew does.
What's included.
One to three days depending on size, and the wood needs to be dry before stain goes on.
Included
- Low-pressure wash with a sodium percarbonate pre-soak, then a neutralising rinse
- Board repairs and re-fastening where needed
- Sanding where the grain has raised
- Stain or sealer applied at the right spread rate, not stretched thin
- Everything not being stained masked and protected
Not included
- New builds - that's a separate quote, and we do those too
- Composite decking, which needs a different treatment

Questions we actually get.
When should I stain a fence or deck in Calgary?
Late May through early September. The wood has to be genuinely dry and the overnight temperature has to stay above about 10°C for the stain to cure. Staining too early in spring is the most common reason a finish fails in one winter.
How often does a Calgary deck need re-staining?
Every two to three years for a horizontal surface. Our UV load and freeze-thaw cycles are hard on a finish, and the flat boards go long before the railings do.
